Q: How do I receive one of the selected photos each day?

A: To receive a photo each day you will either need an RSS/Atom feed reader, or an email address. Click on the link from the main page for the feed you are looking for, then, follow the instruction on the next page to get started with receiving your daily feed.

Q: How do I stop receiving a feed?

A: Should you ever decide to stop receiving a feed daily, all you have to do for email is click on the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of the daily emails. For a feed reader, simply remove the link to the feed.

Q: Does this cost anything?

A: Nope.

Q: How do I buy one of the images for a desktop background?

A: At the bottom of each daily photo is a link to take you to our site to purchase photos. If you wish to purchase a photo for download as a desktop, you will need to click on the "Buy Photo" link at the top of that screen. On the next screen that comes up, simply choose the "Downloads" tab add the item to your cart. After a normal checkout process, you will be presented with a link to download the image in a higher resolution (usually 1000x800 pixels, but not always). Once downloaded, depending on which operating system you are using, you may select the image to be used as your computers background per the software company's instructions.

Q: Can I use the photos for anything I want?

A: No. You may use the downloaded image for only personal, non-commercial uses. You also may not enter the photo in any form of creative commons license. The original photo copyright holder retains all rights to the image and is granting you a one time personal use of the image. You may backup the image, but you may not distribute the image for free or a fee.

Q: May I submit a photo to be used on Focus of the Day?

A: SURE! We'd loveto see your images. Use the submission for located here to send us one photo at a time, complete with description. We like informing our viewers, so please include as much useful information as you feel is needed to make the photo more interesting.
